Lyrical Revolt in San Francisco
Youth & Student A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition Brings Hip Hop Show to counterPULSE
On Saturday September 22 over 150 people came together from across California to participate in Lyrical Revolt, an event put on by the Youth & Student A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition at Counter Pulse in San Francisco. The night was filled with politically conscious Hip Hop, spoken word and speeches from such organizations as the Brown Berets of Watsonville and Youth Alive.

This was the first time that a Lyrical Revolt event has been organized on the West Coast, but it has become well established in Harlem. Lyrical Revolt brings together art and politics, young and old, and people from diverse backgrounds. Lyrical Revolt's goal is to "inspire people to actively get involved in the struggle to change injustice from the grassroots up."
