In Sacramento, anti war activists protested the illegal occupations of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine. Protesters showed support for the Palestinians' right of return and condemnd the U.S. and Israeli military actions in the Middle East. They protested the mass killings of civilians in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan, and opposed any more funding of the occupation effort in Iraq. Protesters also denounced the apparent U.S. and Israeli plans to attack Iran.

The 16th & Broadway event was part of a national weekend of anti-war actions. Last weekend hundreds of thousands of people from around the country descended on the Pentagon in Washington DC. in a mass demonstration to demand: "U.S. Out of Iraq Now!"

Protests were also held in other Central Valley towns, including Stockton, Fresno, and Reedley. 1,000 people marched in downtown Fresno to demand an end to the war/occupation in Iraq.
