Sacramento's 4th Anniversary Protest is Saturday, March 17th

by Stephen Pearcy (stephen.pearcy [at] sbcglobal.net)
Huge Sacramento anti-war protest will occur in solidarity with national actions in D.C. on Saturday and S.F. on Sunday. The national protests are expected to be the largest since the Vietnam War.
On Saturday, March 17th, from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, thousands of peace activists will converge at 16th & Broadway, in Sacramento, to protest the 4th year since the start of the criminal invasion of Iraq.

The group will protest the illegal occupations of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine and show support for the Palestinians' right of return. They'll also condemn the U.S. and Israeli military actions in the Middle East, especially the mass killings of civilians in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan, and oppose any more funding of the occupation effort in Iraq. Protesters will also denounce the apparent U.S. and Israeli plans to attack Iran.

The 16th & Broadway event will be part of a national weekend of anti-war actions. On March 17th, hundreds of thousands of people from around the country will descend on the Pentagon in Washington DC. in a mass demonstration to demand: "U.S. Out of Iraq Now!"

On Sunday, March 18th, a large protest will occur in San Francisco, so there will be no schedule conflict with the Sacramento event on the 17th.

People who are not going to D.C. on Saturday, March 17th, are encouraged come to 16th & Broadway, in Sacramento, to protest the illegal occupations of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine, and to demand that the U.S. and Israel leave Iran alone! They are also encouraged to join the San Francisco protest on Sunday.

Endorsers/Sponsors: National Council of Arab Americans (NCA-Sacramento), CSUS Faculty for Peace & Justice, Sacramento Progressive Alliance, Campus Progressive Alliance, Coalition for Democracy in Haiti, Veterans for Peace/Sacramento Chapter, Sacramento County Peace and Freedom Party, Green Party of Sacramento, Chicano Consortium, Stephen & Virginia Pearcy, many others.
