Sun Mar 23 2003
Resistance in the Streets of San Francisco
3/22: 75,000 people marched in San Francisco today, marking the fourth day of emergency protests in the Bay Area. There were many breakaway marches lasting late into the night. Reports came in of people being picked out of the crowd for questioning or dragged out of the crowd and beaten by police. One small boy was snatched by police off his father's shoulders, while the police arrested his father. There were estimated 30-40 arrests. An outside video screening took place in Dolores Park, including fresh footage from the protests, as well as, documentaries about the 1991 Gulf War protests in San Francisco. Actions will resume on Monday at 7AM.
