San Francisco Protest to Demand Improvements for Medicare System
Protest in Support of Medicare for All, HR 676, Outside of SF Federal Building
A Rally and Press Conference will be held on Thursday, December 13th at Nancy Pelosi’s Office to demand that she and Congress take action to fix the Medicare system, and guarantee its future funding. Protesters will gather outside of the Federal Building at 450 Golden Gate Ave. (on the Polk Street side) at 1:30pm.

Tens of millions of seniors and disabled peopled on Medicare are being forced to choose among confusing private drug plans that offer fewer drugs at higher cost, with bigger coverage gaps that cost sick Medicare recipients thousands of dollars. Many patients say that they are not being given enough information about Medicare's programs. Some are concerned that if Congress does not guarantee Medicare's funding, all but the sick and the poor would be pushed out of Medicare and into private health plans. This will limit Americans' access to healthcare, in addition to causing Medicare to go bankrupt.

Organizers of the December 13th protest say that Medicare needs to be improved, and expanded to cover everyone - regardless of their age, health, job status, income, or residency. They support Medicare for All (Single Payer) as the only way that Americans can have equal, comprehensive, low-cost healthcare for every single person. HR 676, Medicare for All, has reportedly been in the US House of Representatives for years.
