Oak Grove Anniversary Celebration in Berkeley
On December 2nd, supporters marked the one-year anniversary since tree sits were set up in Berkeley's Memorial Grove. The day began early with dozens of people gathered on the sidewalk in front of the grove. Bands played, Circus Pandemonium performed, free food was served, and supporters marched into the grove. photo Photos

A Thanksgiving celebration was held at the grove on November 22nd. Five activists, including 2 UC Berkeley students, were arrested early Thanksgiving morning for supplying the tree-sit with food and supplies.

On November 20th, UC Berkeley completed the construction of a second barbed-wire fence around the Memorial Oak Grove enclosing approximately ten tree-sitters inside. The fencing has cost an estimated $115,000. UCB have announced they can fine or arrest anyone acting "in concert" with the tree-sitters.
