In a December 1st Board of Supervisors Briefing Report titled “Medical Marijuana Identification Cards”, Fresno County’s Public Health Officer, Ed Moreno, MD, MPH, stated that the Department of Community Health will be soliciting, “letters of interest from community organizations to issue state produced medical marijuana identification cards.” These state ID cards, called for by Senate Bill 420, will provide both local/State law enforcement and cannabis dispensary owners assurance of a medical cannabis patient’s valid physician recommendation, for the patient along with any designated primary caregiver.
