Discussion of Oakland's pesticide ordinance was postponed to a Public Works Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 22nd at 12:30pm. A rewritten version of the proposal will also be brought before the City Council on April 5, 2005, at 7pm (6pm for seating, and to sign up to speak).

The City is now claiming that "spraying" is not implied in the ordinance that prohibits pesticide use in Oakland, and are now calling the process they will use "spritzing." Edible plants have not been removed from lists of of treatable plants in recent editions of the ordinance. Read more
