Protesters Respond To Falluja Attack: US Military Sends Tanks Into Streets Of LA To Confront Protesters

11/9/2004: At 7:50 PM armored tanks showed up at an anti-war protest in front of the federal building in Westwood. The tanks circled the block twice, the second time parking themselves in the street and directly in front of the area where most of the protesters were gathered. Enraged, some of the people attempted to block the tanks, but police quickly cleared the street. (LA Indymedia | Video & photos | More Photos).

Athens, Greece
11/17/2004: "Police fired tear gas at demonstrators who hurled rocks and bottles at the U.S. Embassy in Athens on Wednesday during a rally against the war in Iraq. Dozens of youths wearing scarves and crash helmets clashed with riot police. At least 25 were detained, police said. There were no immediate reports of injuries. A downtown branch of Citibank was damaged by a firebomb, while protesters set fire to trash bins near the embassy." More

Four people were arrested in Edinburgh as the US Consulate was spattered with blood red paint and covered in anti-war slogans.
