Bay Area: Hundreds March for Palestinians
sf march for palestine
4/2: Hundreds of people marched through downtown Berkeley to in solidarity with Palestinians under continued attack by the IDF (Isreali Defense Forces). The procession culminated at the freeway entrance on University & 6th Sts, effectively blocking traffic for several hours. Police deliberately showered several protesters in the face with pepper spray and, for no apparent reason, seized one woman into custody. She was freed a half hour later, as the crowd angrily agitated for her release. Supporters are asked to attend her hearing on April 23 at 2pm (2120 MLK Dept. 201) to demand that any charges be dropped. Report Photos: 1 | 2 Videos: 1 2 3
A nationwide call-in campaign also occurred throughout the day, to urge the White House to put an end to the US-financed, Israeli attacks on Palestinians & international peace activists.

3/30: Hundreds of demonstrators marched in the streets of SF against the escalating violence by the Israeli government in occupied Palestine - Report | video. Moreover, there have been demonstrations and solidarity actions worldwide, from DC to Baghdad, and Italy to Dublin, all against Israeli aggression and for justice in Palestine. The Israeli Defense Forces' bombardment and attack on Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat's compound and witnessed policy of execution, coupled with 5 suicide bombings by Palestinians in the past 4 days, has ratcheted up the level of repression by the IDF and the sense of urgency and resistance on the part of Palestinians. 3/30 report | video

3/13: Hundreds of people marched through the North Beach district of SF to show their solidarity with Palestinian resistance. This came in response to a week of brutal Israeli aggression and violence, equipped and funded by GWB and the bloated US military machine.
