Parade for the Santa Cruz Eleven
With Trial Set for March, Parade Organized to Support Final Four SC11 Defendants
A Parade in support and solidarity with the Santa Cruz Eleven will be held in downtown Santa Cruz on Tuesday, February 11. The 11th for the 11! Supporters will parade through town, spreading the word about the Eleven, dancing, and having fun. Organizers are encouraging attendees to wear gold and bring noise makers, puppets, confetti and friends. Creativity and sillyness are welcome!

The Santa Cruz Eleven are community members facing charges stemming from the 2011 occupation of the empty bank building leased by Wells Fargo at 75 River Street. Seven of the Eleven have had their charges dropped, however the city continues to spend thousands of dollars prosecuting the remaining four. After two years, their trial is scheduled to begin March 3.

Individuals are invited to begin gathering at 3pm on Tuesday, February 11 in the parking lot behind the Saturn Cafe (corner of Pacific Ave. and Laurel St.) in downtown Santa Cruz.
