One of the highlights of the weekend was "Caravan/Prague," which was shown Saturday at 5pm. This film tells the story of a bike caravan, themed "Money or Life," that travelled 500 miles across Europe to join the protests in Prague against the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. The caravan was a mobile utopian community that aimed to be a living counter-example to the values of powerful financial institutions. Other films shown during the weekend will include topics such as: surviving in the streets of NYC as a bicycle messenger, Midnight Ridazz in LA, a history of the BMX subculture, fixed gear riding, bicycle clubs, and more. Some films, such as "Caravan/Prague," were feature-length, while others are only seven minutes long. Read more
"Caravan/Prague" will also be showing at the Guerrilla Drive-In Bicycle Movie Night, hosted by People Power in Santa Cruz, on Friday, October 6th at 8:00pm, at Fair Ave. and the train tracks (westside, Santa Cruz). A bike ride to the Drive-In meets at 5:30PM, at the corner of Cooper and Pacific in downtown Santa Cruz.
