Trabajadores de Chevys Fresh Mex Fueron Despedidos por Protestar el 1 de Mayo

El Chevys Fresh Mex en Tracy, CA despidieron a ocho empleados por haber faltado a trabajar el Lunes 1 de Mayo, despues que el staff de la cocina habia firmado y dado una peticion a su empleador indicando su deseo de apoyar la marcha del 1 de Mayo por los derechos de l@s inmigrantes. Otros cuatro empleados renunciaron a sus trabajos en solidaridad con los trabajadores despedidos, luego de que sus protestas sobre el despido fue ignorada.

Otr@s trabajador@s del restaurant fueron forzados a ir a trabajar el 1 de Mayo, a pesar de sus deseos de participar en la marcha del 1 de Mayo. "Tod@s ellos querian tener el dia libre. La repuesta que obtuvieron fue, 'Si ustedes no aparecen, estan despedidos'", dijo el supervisor de la cocina Fernando Martinez a la prensa Tracy Press.

Gary Rickles, director de operaciones para Calmex, Inc., ha informado que habia dado orden de que l@s trabajador@s marchando el 1 de Mayo fueran despedidos.
