Report from Steve Kubby's January 31st Court Date
Two Vanloads of Patients Travel from SF to Auburn in Support of Steve Kubby
2/3: See Indybay's Drug War Page for updates
Freeman from Hemp Evolution reports that two vanloads of patients drove from San Francisco to Auburn for Steve Kubby's hearing at the Placer County Jail today. Bill McPike, Steve's attorney, said Steve was hanging on and that the supportive presence was encouraging to him and gave him strength, although Steve has lost fifteen to twenty pounds.
The press conference included an update on Steve's condition and answering questions about Steve's legal status. Supporters made it clear that they want Steve to get his medicine, and for him to be placed in the infirmary or be released to house arrest. Before a packed courtroom, Steve pled not guilty to violating the terms of his probation, and his next court appearance was scheduled for Friday, February 3rd, 2006 at 8:30 AM.
