Anti-Fur Protest in Union Square
About 150 protesters against the use of fur made their presence felt in the Union Square area of San Francisco on11/29, the busiest shopping day of the year. They marched through the throngs of consumers chanting anti-fur slogans, and passed out flyers which said forty million animals a year world-wide are killed for their fur. Activists have organized a boycott of Neiman-Marcus, which they re-named Neiman Carcass, and they protested at the doors of the department store, where they were met by police.
