6/5: On 6/4 the Bicycle Civil Liberties Union, representing bicycle activists involved in Sacramento's Critical Mass bike ride, announced an $11 million lawsuit being filed against the Sacramento Police Dept. for repeatedly denying activists' their civil rights. One particularly egregious example of the Sacramento police's failure to protect the rights of the 2-wheeled on the road occurred on 5/4, when a woman, distressed, perhaps because Critical Mass wasn't moving fast enough for her, hit one rider, ran over his foot, and screamed at the rest as she tore away. Overall, the assault resulted in 2 injuries, one destroyed bicycle, and a horrified daughter of the road-raging woman. The license plate was duly recorded.
