UPDATE, NOON MONDAY, 12/12/05: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has rejected Stanley "Tookie" Williams' plea for clemency. Williams is schedule to be executed by lethal injection at San Quentin Prison in Marin at 12:01am tonight. Last minute appeals have been made to Federal Courts, but no stay of the execution is expected at this point. Radio station KPFA (94.1FM) will have updates until approximately 12:30am.

The execution of Stanley Tookie Williams is scheduled to take place at 12:01am on Tuesday morning. Supporters of Williams and the work that he does to show people alternatives to gang life called on the governor to grant clemency. A vigil and rally are being held outside of San Quentin, officially starting at 8:00pm tonight. Directions to San Quentin and list of vigils statewide | Post your reports to Indybay
