image San José: Rally to Stop Trump Policy that Separates Immigrant Children from Parents 480_famsjowickicrowd_1.jpg by Text R.R./Photos Jack Owicki
On June 14, hundreds of immigration and children’s rights advocates rallied in San José, California in protest against the Trump administration policy that separates children from their parents along the US border. The administration’s “zero tolerance” policy provides for the arrest of all adults caught trying to enter the United States without documentation, including those seeking asylum....

text Bay Area News Group article on the Governor's race ignores Delaine Eastin by Stanley Sokolow
A news article today from the publisher of The Santa Cruz Sentinel, The San Jose Mercury News, and many other local newspapers, speaks about the positions of gubernatorial candidates on higher education in California. It completely ignores Delaine Eastin although she is tied in recent polls with one candidate that they did talk about. Eastin knows education in California, has big plans for it, and they should have included her in the story....

Dozens of local ratepayers Tuesday and in previous meetings testified as to the adverse impacts the project would have, including raising water rates for low income families and devastating the Delta and West Coast fisheries, but the Board nonetheless voted for the project under tremendous pressure from Governor Jerry Brown and the Metropolitan Water District. Left to right: Tony Estremera, District 6; Richard Santos, District 3; John L. Varela, District 1; Gary Kremen, District 7; Barbar...

image Groups Accuse Metropolitan Water District of Violating Brown Act 480_met-votes-yes.jpg by Dan Bacher
Brenna Norton, senior organizer with Food & Water Watch, commented, “This is a bad idea no matter what – but transparency is ultimately what allows people to hold their government accountable. Metropolitan Water District staff and directors, working with Governor Brown, colluded to round up votes to use SoCal ratepayer and taxpayer money to subsidize Central Valley farmers.”...
