Sydney Gay & Lesbian Chorus' Vox Homo Australis

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir (SGLC), on its inaugural North American Tour, presents Vox Homo Australis, a summer choral concert. The Tour has included performances in New York as well as participating in the choral festival at the Out Games in Montr?al. This is SGLC's first-ever visit to San Francisco, and its last stop on the tour. Vox Homo Australis will also feature such local GLBT choral groups as the GLAM Youth Choir, the Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco, members of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, and others. SGLC began in 1991, around the same time as the Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus. (The Melbourne group, coincidentally, was founded by Lawrence McGuire, brother of SF Gay Men's Chorus conductor Dr. Kathleen McGuire.). The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir is one of Australia's largest, non-auditioned community choirs and is recognized as one of the best. In 1998, SGLC toured to London and Amsterdam.
