Join us as we honor International Day of Peace with two actions:
4 pm - 5 pm: Peace Messaging at Window on the Bay, 717 Del Monte Avenue in Monterey. Bring a sign with a peace message.
6 pm - 8 pm: Film Screening of "Peace One Day" at the Monterey Peace and Justice Center, 1364 Fremont Blvd in Seaside. Shared a potluck dinner and an inspiring documentary film. Pizza is compliments of the Peace Coalition of Monterey County.
"Peace One Day" chronicles the six-year effort by Jeremy Gilley to establish September 21st of each year as a day dedicated to honoring and strengthening the ideals of peace. On this day each year, the UN calls for a 24‑hour global cease‑fire and urges individuals, communities, and governments to recognize peace as a fundamental human right.
Come and enjoy pizza, potluck dishes, an inspiring film, and meaningful conversation. Potluck contributions are welcome, but not required.
Celebrate peace and reaffirm our shared vision of lasting peace.
