Art-in for Real Art & Human Artists, not Ai! Tues & Thurs thruout Musk v Altman Trial

Date:
Thursday, May 14, 2026
Time:
12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Phoebe, Stop Ai
Location Details:
1301 Clay St, Oakland. Outside, in front of south wing entrance. Ron Dellums Federal Court Bldg. Look for the news cameras. That's where we'll be. Media is there because ElonMusk is suing Sam Altman. We protest the broligarchy Nerd Reich!

Real ART-In. Focus of today's protest is theft of artists’ creations by Ai companies, and replacement of artist work by Ai. Artists and others may bring all kinds of art to display (music too), and/or make art there. Bring supplies to share if you wish. Art need not be “on topic” but we particularly like protest signs, puppets, and props related to stopping or slowing Ai.

These protests continue Tuesdays and Thursdays thruout the Musk v Altman trial, which may end this week or next. (Also fine to protest there on Mondays and Wednesdays, in which case bring your own sign.)

Best time to be visible M-Th is probably 1:15ish when mainstream media normally set up cameras til the attorneys’ press conf ends 2:15ish. (maybe earlier some days, but that's been the pattern.) Try to get on TV news by carrying anti-Ai protest signs slowly back and forth behind Musk's and Altman's attorneys while they're being interviewed. Please don't display unrelated signage. By the way, though rage is justified, we are committed to non-violence and want our messaging to be powerfully peaceful please.

Ai has many tentacles that can be addressed: theft of democracy by techno-fascist broligarchy and the Nerd Reich, job losses, bigotry, theft of intellectual and artistic property, data center ecocide, military killer Ai drones, Ai psychosis, suicides and murders caused by chatbots, harassment and even murder of whistleblowers (Suchir Balaji), deep confusion caused by deep fakes, adverse affects on education and emotional well-being and youth's motivation to learn or develop skills, serious imminent existential risk (admitted by most experts) posed by general/super Ai if allowed to be developed. We do believe in free speech yet ask that attendees please respect organizers' hard work by not using our protest to publicize unrelated issues. E.g. If you think 911 truth (which many of us support, generally) is related to Ai, make that connection clear on your sign if you want to bring such signage pls. Otherwise, organize your own protest some other time. That's only fair.
Last testimony and closing arguments are expected to wrap up early Thurs afternoon (1:45ish).
So we likely won't protest there again until the judgement is announced, possibly next week, but how long jury deliberations will take is unpredictable, as is how long the judge will take after that. If you see us in the media, please post links to it here as a comment. We were on Fox news last night. Indymedia links to footage, photos, or reporting on protests also appreciated. In top clip below, see Musk inflatable doing the nazi salute. 2nd clip down, this videographer goes back and forth between Musk’s attorney and our funeral for Ai victims on 5/7/26:
