Good Trouble 2022: Ensuring Voting Rights in America

January 5, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Info & register here: https://mediatorsbeyondborders.org/event/good-trouble-2022-ensuring-voting-rights-in-america/

Mediators Beyond Borders International is delighted to launch 2022: the Year of Action in Collaboration with one of the most important matters facing the United States: Voting Rights. This event is organized in partnership with Black Women for Positive Change, the National Association for Community Mediation, and the Trust Network.

Award-winning civil rights activists Attorney Barbara Arnwine and Attorney Daryl Jones, Co-Leaders of the Transformative Justice Coalition fresh off their community-based victory in the Justice For Ahmaud Arbery community-building campaign, will bring their extraordinary skills and expertise to this candid discussion about effective strategies for ensuring voting rights in America.

At a time of declining trust in institutions and toxic polarization, Barbara and Daryl will share their successes in community coalition building and policy advocacy in communities across the United States. Barbara and Daryl will also highlight exciting community empowerment opportunities that will be presented through the passage of the Freedom To Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, both bills are currently pending in the U.S. Congress.

We hope that you will join us for a lively, interactive and substantive discussion, and prepare to work to create a more inclusive and robust democracy.
