Because of the protests happening across the nation against police brutality and the death of George Floyd by killer cops, at least 40 cities have imposed curfews, and 23 states have called in the National Guard.

The impeached President Donald J. Trump and his associates are threatening to unleash U.S. troops on the American public, in an address to the American public, after Trump has repeatedly thrown fuel on the fire to stir things up, and brutalize the country at large from the White House.

I read the Alameda County Order above for curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to stop the looting and arson, and it is the same as the Order for the City & County of San Francisco. On Sunday, when I stepped out of my rent-controlled apartment near Union Square in San Francisco which happens to be my hometown, I saw my building marked up by gang-type of graffiti, while the condominium buildings were left untouched; I saw the 2 small grocers, the Walgreen’s and the CVS pharmacies where I shop looted and therefore boarded up, and I saw more boarding up of businesses such as hotels and restaurants, that had not boarded up during the shut down of the tourist industry that started on March 16, 2020, causing 100,000 San Franciscans to be unemployed, for a virus that has so far caused 43 deaths in our city of 883,000 people in 2.5 months, a period that certainly sees far more heart disease and cancer deaths in the same period. Now, the unemployed will have to wait longer to obtain their jobs, which means they face going to food banks, trying to obtain food stamps, and trying to survive on unemployment benefits that are about to expire.

As the small business owners in the Mission District who experienced the same professional crime problem stated at their press conference, the looting and arson are clearly the work of agent provocateurs. There were dozens of fires set inside buildings, in cars, and on the street, using debris. They use the protests as a cover for their evil deeds, especially the night time protests. The destruction of our City was less horrific on Sunday night than Saturday night only because of the curfew and because just about everything is boarded up. However, even on Sunday night, among the 80 plus people arrested, evidence was found of Molotov cocktails, explosives, and tools used to break into buildings, steal all the goods, and cause fires. Now, many of the streets around Union Square are blocked to try to prevent the professional criminals from doing their get away routine in their cars and trucks.

Today, Monday, June 1, 2020, the Democratic Party had a campaign rally at City Hall around noon, with the mayor speaking. The Democratic Party which runs the entire Bay Area is doing a good job of promoting these protests in the day time, but of course, night time is for sleeping, and we do have to save our cities and counties if we are to have jobs, food, medicine, clothing and all other necessities. The Democratic Party, like the Republican Party, is not capable of solving the police killing problem. That takes a labor movement that can carry out a general strike to put an end to the profit motive.
