March for Science Bay Area FAQs:

How can I get to the March?

We encourage biking or using public transportation. The Lake Merritt BART station is an 8 minute, 1/2 mile walk away. See http://www.douglasparking.com for commercial lots near the site. We will have a valet bike parking area on-site.

What's to eat?

A variety of food trucks will be dishing up tasty treats in front of the Kaiser Auditorium - across Lake Merritt Blvd, where our sponsor booths and kids area are also located.

Where are we marching?

Actually nowhere this year. M4S 2018 is a rally and street fair. The logistics of getting this large number of science fans safely marching around the lake, or coordinating a parade route didn't work out this year. Your feet will cheer - and we'll still raise our voices and signs for science in a meaningful and fun way!

What can I bring into the event?

The safety and comfort of the large expected crowd is our first priority. Many attendees may have substance sensitivities, and we will be in close quarters. The event is completely gun-free, alcohol-free, drug-free, & smoke-free (both tobacco and cannibis). Please leave these items at home, and avoid wearing fragrances so that all can participate.

Can I volunteer to help produce this fantastic event?

Absolutely! We need many, many volunteers with skills from PR to crowd control to first aid to photography to ifting and toting with a smile! Please register and our volunteer coordinators will be back with you as soon as possible!

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please email organizers [at] marchforsciencesf.com. We are an all-volunteer organization, and will do our best to get back to you quickly.

March for Science San Francisco, March for Science Silicon Valley, & East Bay Science Coalition are working together to present this "March for Science Bay Area" event.
