"The House We Live In" exposes how government policies, particularly in housing, adversely affect minorities. After World War II, with the support of the GI Bill, housing boomed, and segregated suburbs popped up all over the country. Federal government regulations directed government-guaranteed loans to white homeowners and kept non-whites out. "The Arc of Justice" follows the New Communities, Inc., and civil rights activists from the l960's who purchased land in Georgia to create a new community and facilitate economic development and greater power for African Americans. The films will be followed by a speaker and discussion. Free, no RSVP needed.
