City College, Mission Street, social services, SFUSD, neighborhood councils, business attractiveness . . . how do we keep all these from crumbling away?
The proper source of public revenue for maintaining public infrastructure is the land value beneath our feet, but the property tax collects but a shard of this, while taxes fall onerously upon business, upon shoppers via the sales tax, and in the form of long-term bond debt . . . and that's just the local burden on exchanging goods and services. Then there's the State Income Tax, State business tax, etc.
Come to a workshop illuminating the land portion of the property tax as an unburdensome source of public revenue . . . and get paid to do so.
