Community Empowering Habitat Restoration at Heron's Head Park
Join Planet Drum Foundation (PD) staff, friends, and family for March's Workshop-Workday at Heron's Head Park. Experience the rebounding natural areas of San Francisco's Southern Shoreline, in the Bayview Hunter's Point District, PD's monthly Workshop-Workdays engage volunteers in the bioregional perspective of education & action at numerous local place-based community projects.
We will be joined by members of SF Park & Rec's Youth Stewardship Program, and get our minds clear with comprehending the EJ issues of the surrounding area, and our hands dirty by engaging in hands-on wetland restoration & habitat construction.
Heron's Head Park is a 24 acre park located in the Southern Waterfront of San Francisco. This peninsular park is home to Salt Marsh and Upland restoration activities, walking paths, bird-watching, environmental education activities, and the EcoCenter.
Please dress for varied weather (in layers), bring hats, sunglasses, and sun-block, binoculars for bird-watching, water and a snack (optional, but recommended).
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative will be providing snacks & refreshments for community volunteers..
Workshop-Workdays are cancelled ONLY for excessive weather.
