The myth of democracy and the rule of the banks

Friday, August 24, 7pm
2969 Mission St., San Francisco

The Party for Socialism and Liberation has just produced a new pamphlet, “The Myth of Democracy and the Rule of the Banks,” which documents some of the outrageous crimes of the biggest Wall Street financial institutions. Their documented crimes including massive drug money laundering, illegal foreclosures, and blatant fraud which has led to the bankrupting of pension plans and entire cities. The bankers wild gambling played a key role in bringing down the economy. Yet, no top Wall St. executive has gone to prison. Why?

Hear author Richard Becker, whose presentation will be followed by discussion.

Defending Women’s Rights

On Sunday, August 26 – Women’s Equality Day and the day before the start of the Republican convention – marches and rallies will take place in cities across the country. The protests, initiated by Women Organized to Resist & Defend (WORD), will oppose the coordinated right-wing attacks that have eroded women’s rights. Join us for a report on the plans for August 26, and get involved in building the movement!
