Religion is like a corporation. Both are artificial entities created by humans. Both claim to be too big to fail. Religion has definitely failed, just look at the number of children that get raped and/or disfigured by religious leaders of many denominations on an ongoing basis. Look at the crusades and jihads we still wage.

To retain the celebrations of one's family and ancestors is perfectly fine, but to identify oneself as a member of religion, and especially to conflate the antiquated notion of race with religion, is not politically liberal, it is reckless and regressive.
