Public Hearing for one of the students charged in the student activism of 2009

by tangle
The first hearing for the students facing student conduct charges due to student activism last year was held on Wed, Oct 27th, 2010. The discrepancies of the code by which the UC Berkeley Student Conduct Office determines university policy was brought to the public's attention, in a lengthy, but lively, student conduct hearing.

Zelko's first of a series of objections was a problem with video photocopy rights. She urged members of the panel to report this injustice to Harry Le Grande, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

Lt. Adan Tejada gave a detailed account of the entering of the UCPD on Nov. 20th, 2009 by the SE entrance to Wheeler. Zelko correctly brought the panel's attention to the fact that Tejada mentioned incidents he himself was not necessarily present for and was hearsay. Tejada confirmed that he could not recall exactly when he first saw Zelko on Nov 20th, 2009. It is on the record that he did not see Zelko holding the doors prohibiting police entrance.
§Lavern Lazerby

Laura Bennet asked whether the entirety of Wheeler Hall had not been reserved for a special event on the day of the incident Zelko is being charged for, and Lazerby confirmed that it had not been.
