a WORKSHOP at the Contemporary Jewish Museum

In the first of three classes, Torah scribe Julie Seltzer, who is writing a complete Torah in the galleries of the Museum as part of the exhibition As it is Written: Project 304, 805, will demonstrate the connections between food and text by combining a personal tour of her scribal workshop with Torah study and a session baking challah in the shape of Hebrew letters.

Before becoming a scribe, or soferet, Julie Seltzer was a baker at the Isabella Friedman Center in Connecticut. Among her culinary achievements was a series of challah breads evoking Hebrew letters, or a theme from the weekly Torah reading.

Seltzer’s other Food for Thought programs include hamentashen cookies on February 23 and matzhas on March 21.

What is all this superstitious garbage doing here? You would not have Bible reading sessions promoted here, so there is no reason to promote the Torah or any other superstition commonly known as religion. Since you apparently have extra disc space to waste on this garbage, you have room for this comment.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
