DESCRIPTION:a WORKSHOP at the Contemporary Jewish Museum\n\nIn the first of three 
 classes, Torah scribe Julie Seltzer, who is writing a complete Torah in the 
 galleries of the Museum as part of the exhibition As it is Written: Project 
 304, 805, will demonstrate the connections between food and text by 
 combining a personal tour of her scribal workshop with Torah study and a 
 session baking challah in the shape of Hebrew letters.\n\nBefore becoming a 
 scribe, or soferet, Julie Seltzer was a baker at the Isabella Friedman 
 Center in Connecticut. Among her culinary achievements was a series of 
 challah breads evoking Hebrew letters, or a theme from the weekly Torah 
 reading.\n\nSeltzer’s other Food for Thought programs include hamentashen
