NATIVE PLANT DYE WORKSHOP & COHO BENEFIT on the eve of the Fall Equinox w/ Rebecca Burgess (ecological artist) & Paola Bouley (SPAWN ecologist)
Beginning with a hike in the beautiful Lagunitas Watershed, one of the last viable coho salmon habitats in CA, we will visit the ecosystems where these sacred salmon and plants co-exist.
We will both observe the plant species within the ecosystem, as well as explore the wide variety of color they offer us in the dye vat and on various natural fabrics.
Cost The cost is $30 for SPAWN members and $65 for new members. (The $65 rate includes an annual membership w/ SPAWN).
Contact Paola [at] Tirn.Net 415-663-8590 x111 for details on membership and the dye workshop.
WHEN: Saturday, September 19th (day before the Fall Equinox), 10-3pm
WHERE: West Marin on Lagunitas Creek
What to Bring: Messy clothes. If you want to dye some of your own clothes, yarns, or fiber- bring them along. A sample organic wool skein, a silk scarf, and many fabric swatches are included in the workshop.
