After weeks of national attention on this vital issue, the Obama administration is proposing a bill in Congress aimed at health care reform.

While proclaiming that “all options are on the table,” it has become clear that the one option that would solve the healthcare crisis-universal healthcare- is not under consideration by the Obama administration and Congress. Join us for an update on the ongoing health care debate.

On the 70th anniversary of WW II
Who Really Defeated the Nazis?
September 1st commemorates the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II. What were the underlying causes of this war in which 50 million people died? What is fascism and how did it rise? What were the objectives of the U.S. in the war?

Join us for a report and discussion on the principle role of the USSR in defeating the Nazis in the war; why it signed the Non-Aggressive Treaty with Germany and other important issues. We will also see video excerpts from the “The Unknown War”, a moving 1978 documentary that focuses on the Soviet Union’s role in fighting fascist Germany.
