Grizzly Bear Festival
At Rancho del Oso Nature and History Center

Saturday, August 22, from 1:00PM to 4:00 PM

Spend the day at Rancho del Oso Nature and History Center to discover more about its celebrated extinct mascot, the mammal that Rancho del Oso was named for: the Grizzly Bear.

Ranger Frank Balthis will give a talk and slide show on wild grizzlies in Alaska and Wyoming.

Docent Doreen Devorah will entertain us with a dramatization of William Waddell's last encounter with a grizzly bear. There will be children's activities all day from teddy bear picnics to mask making and songs. This event is free. The park is located 16 miles north of Santa Cruz along Highway One, at Waddell Creek, just 2 miles south of Año Nuevo State Park (831) 427-2288.
