Following the military coup d’etat in Honduras on June 28, the Honduran people responded by taking to the streets demanding the return of President Zelaya. Far-right elements violently forced Zelaya into exile for helping the poor, increasing social spending and advocating closer association with other progressive Latin American governments.

The coup leaders, who are receiving behind-the-scenes support from the U.S. government, have been overwhelmingly condemned by governments and people worldwide.

Despite increased repression against the Honduran people, they continue to fight for the return of President Zelaya. Now is the time to stand in solidarity with the people of Honduras.
