Marriage equality is now reality or within grasp in many States. The anti-gay-marriage Prop 8 passed in California and was upheld by the State Supreme Court, but supporters of gay marriage did not sit at home and mourn, they organized and protested with anger combined with optimism that anti-gay bigotry can and will be defeated.
Thanks to the protests and the outrage following the passage of Prop 8, public opinion has shifted more in favor of marriage equality. How can we use this momentum and build a LGBT-rights movement that can overturn Prop 8 and win lasting change and real equality?
Join us for a discussion about the next steps in this struggle for civil rights and uniting people to build a movement to get rid of sexism, homophobia, and racism.
