Cops Watch Copwatchers in San Jose
Victims of police violence and activists came together to share and hear stories of San Jose Police Department abuse and misuse of authority. They demonstrated under the watchful eye of mounted police in front of San Jose City Hall on Cinco de Mayo 2009.
The event was organized by BASTA, a group standing up against police brutality, against Latinos specifically and all communities at large.

they put people in that jail all the time who are mostly african latino natives or poor whites.the system is definitely biased toward hansome white people who have also a born into economic level. the judges ,male AND female ,actually read aloud false charges in court, thats fascism !
It is important to know that Silicon Valley de Bug was only a sponsor for this rally and that BASTA was the main and only organizer for this anti-police brutality action. The captions and web page notations are misleading. BASTA is an anti police brutality organization that is not funded by City, State, or federal Government grants. We are not cop watchers or an organization that sits around watching and doing NOTHING while watching racist cops do their racial profiling. We are standing up against police brutality,
against Latinos specifically and all communities at large.

Thanks for input from BASTA above. Corrections have been made.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
