Update: Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi’s finance ordinance for public access funding has passed the Budget and Finance committee.
On Wednesday April 29 2009 the Budget and Finance committee passed Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi’s ordinance for the future of public access, which will now go before the full board on May 5th 2009.
The vote was:
Supervisor Mirkarimi Yes
Supervisor Avalos Yes
Supervisor Chu No (Wanted it continued)
At that meeting the officials from the Department of Technology said they will re-issue another RFP, in hopes of getting other entities to apply for the gig.
And at this time many public access’ers are expecting to see smear ads regarding this issue on Mainstream TV.
Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi has once again put himself out there for public access TV and deserves a Special Thanks from all who use or watch the channels.
