SFSU Campus Sit-in/Sleep-in Against Budget Cuts

Date:
Wednesday, November 12, 2008
Time:
12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
SFSU Students
Location Details:
ACTION AT SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY: This event will take place first in Science 270 at noon! From there, we will flood the campus with students and take over the quad.

Students are protesting the Budget Cuts (more than 30 million dollars this year)! The money from the California legislature simply is not adequate in funding the CSU and as a result classes are being cut, teachers are being fired, and over-crowding within the classrooms are post-poning registration. Students are going to take a stance in opposing the deteriorating quality of our education. We will engage in a sit-in and then camp out on the quad and make our voices heard! We will be there as long is necessary in making sure higher-education is accessible to students of color, low-income students, and incoming freshmen. Current students will camp-out and hold our administration accountable. Instead of cutting our education, cut the paychecks of officials making six-figures. Abolish the Board of Trustees and work towards a democratic school run by students, teachers, and workers!

Wear all black, bring food, tents, and blankets!
