Police Arrest Arcata City Council Candidate/Activist

by (Required)
University police officers at Humboldt State University arrest Geronimo Garcia while campaigning after complaints from "administrative offices."
Well-known activist and bicycling advocate Geronimio Garcia was again arrested by police in Arcata. This time on Humboldt State University campus while campaigning for his bid for a position on the Arcata Shitty Council. For some reason, it seems that the police just don't like this outspoken critic of Bush jr.'s illegal wars of aggression overseas and local unconstitutional "anti-camping" laws that target homeless people. He has been previously arrested at protests and once after a disagreement about the statue of ex-president and imperialist mass-murderer William McKinley that stands ignominiously on the Arcata plaza. The day after Geronimo's arrest, he could be found on the plaza sharing his medical records stemming from the incident.A biased report can be found in the Arcata Eye (September 23), written by Kevin Hoover, who is known for lambasting homeless people and traveling people in his "newspaper."
