Berkeley Councilmember Kriss Worthington is running for State Assembly (District 14) and needs our support. As many of you know, Kriss has been one of the staunchest supporters of medical cannabis in Berkeley, co-authoring our recent sanctuary resolution and speaking out forcefully about the shameful tactics of the federal government against dispensaries. He is consistently attentive to and respectful of his constituents who are medical marijuana patients, and has taken the time to educate himself thoroughly on issues of import to us. My race for the California State Assembly 14th District seat is going very well. I am excited that we continue to gain momentum and key endorsements from statewide and local organizations. I am proud to have the support of Equality California, the International Association of Machinists, Local 1546, Berkeley Firefighters, Local 1227, the Progressive Democrats of the East Bay, United Farm Workers Co-Founder Dolores Huerta, dozens of elected officials, and hundreds of community leaders. Just this week, I was endorsed by the Teamsters Joint Council 7.

This is a closely watched race and is very competitive. I am well positioned to win, but I need your help now more than ever to ensure that we can get our message out to the voters that this election offers the opportunity to elect a Democratic Assemblymember with both progressive values and the strength to lead.
