Nonprofit Acquires Rights to Berkeley Iceland
Tuesday, March 4, 2008 : Seven months after the historic Berkeley Iceland was saved from the wrecking ball by a 5-4 City Council vote, the Save Berkeley Iceland organization has entered into a contract to purchase the building. The group must now raise $12 million to purchase, restore, improve, and operate Berkeley's legendary ice palace.
