Walking for Peace and Hope in the New Year - Dec 31st

please share this message with others!

as the New Year approaches, the war in Iraq goes on, and Iran is seriously threatened!

please join the Peace Community of Santa Cruz for
A Silent Walk for Peace and Hope
on New Year's Eve
in downtown Santa Cruz

we will gather at the corner of Elm and Pacific,
in the Union Grove Music parking lot at 5:30PM

we will step off in front of the DIY* New Year's Eve Parade (they know we will be there!)
and walk silently and slowly up Pacific Avenue with just a gong and a drum beat

simple messages of Peace, Unity, Hope for the Year ahead,
and the numbers lost and wounded, are encouraged

please wear black and/or white
(a pair of white gloves looks beautiful when we raise our hands in the Peace Symbol!)

hundreds of people will be downtown to watch the Parade this year!
let's take this opportunity to remember the seriousness of the times we are in,
and to call for a different future in this year ahead!

New Year's Eve at 5:30 PM,
corner of Elm and Pacific, downtown Santa Cruz!
we will be finished by 7PM at the latest!

Peace, Now and Forever!

People United for Peace (PUP) is a local affiliation of peace and social justice advocates and activists, organizing vigils, actions, and other events in the Santa Cruz County area on an ad hoc basis.

*DIY means Do It Yourself! since this Parade is a truly grassroots project!
