 Iraq goes on, and Iran is seriously threatened!\n\nplease join the Peace 
 Community of Santa Cruz for\nA Silent Walk for Peace and Hope\non New 
 Year's Eve\nin downtown Santa Cruz\n\nwe will gather at the corner of Elm 
 and Pacific, \nin the Union Grove Music parking lot at 5:30PM\n\nwe will 
 step off in front of the DIY* New Year's Eve Parade (they know we will be 
 there!)\nand walk silently and slowly up Pacific Avenue with just a gong 
 and a drum beat\n\nsimple messages of Peace, Unity, Hope for the Year 
 ahead,\nand the numbers lost and wounded, are encouraged\n\nplease wear 
 black and/or white \n(a pair of white gloves looks beautiful when we raise 
 our hands in the Peace Symbol!)\n\nhundreds of people will be downtown to 
 watch the Parade this year!\nlet's take this opportunity to remember the 
 seriousness of the times we are in,\nand to call for a different future in 
 this year ahead!\n\nNew Year's Eve at 5:30 PM, \ncorner of Elm and Pacific, 
 downtown Santa Cruz!\nwe will be finished by 7PM at the latest!\n\nPeace, 
 Now and Forever!\n\nPeople United for Peace (PUP) is a local affiliation of 
 peace and social justice advocates and activists, organizing vigils, 
 actions, and other events in the Santa Cruz County area on an ad hoc basis.
