ANSWER Activist Meeting
Tues. Oct. 9, 7pm
The U.S. continues to terrorize the Iraqi population through its military surge, Blackwater mercenaries and other "security" contractors. In the meantime, while no cost is too high for the Bush administration in its war for empire, Bush vetoed the extension of the SCHIP child health care program, citing its high cost.
Join us for an update on the war in Iraq and plans for the Oct. 27 March & Rally in San Francisco. The meeting will mainly be a work session, both outreach and work in the office. We need many volunteers for October 27 and between now and the march. Close to 100 organizations have joined the mobilization. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED NOW! Please try to attend this meeting.

Youth & Student ANSWER Meeting—End the War Now!
2489 Mission St. #30 (at 21st St), San Francisco
near 24th St. BART, #14, #49 MUNI
Bush recently announced that the Pentagon wants another $50 billion on top of the $145 billion. That would bring the price tag for the Iraq war to over $3 billion per week. That’s $430 million per day or $5,000 per second! Meanwhile, even more cuts in nutrition, health care and other social programs are on the agenda. While nearly a trillion dollars -- that's $1,000,000,000,000 -- will be spent this year on the military, public schools are deteriorating and many working class students can't afford to go to college.
On Saturday, September 15th over 100,000 people took to the streets of Washington DC demanding an immediate end to the illegal occupation of Iraq. The media pointed out that the crowd was “young” and they were right. Youth and students throughout history have played an integral role in fighting for social change.
On October 27, thousands of people will again take to the streets. Youth and students will say ‘NO’ to the illegal, racist occupation of Iraq—money for education, not occupation! JOIN US!
