Parrot feedings continue dispite ban

by nabrudigam
Group steadfastly refuses to stop feeding parrots dispite ban.
Certain members of the Yahoo group that call themselves “the wild parrot feeders” continue to feed the parrots in S.F. in defiance of the new ban against feeding them that was passed by the S.F. Board of Supervisors on May 22nd. One of the members of the group is shown in Doug Comstock’s video on “You tube” feeding the birds. Her written comments steadfastly support Mr. Comstock’s message against the ban.

Mr. Comstock is certainly entitled to his opinion and entitled to make his video. It is odd however, that certain members of the “wild parrot feeders” Yahoo group, who claim to have the best interest of the parrots at heart and who previously claimed they had nothing to do with the video, now embrace it.

In fact, the very reason the ban was necessary is because of the few stubborn members of the “wild parrot feeders” Yahoo group who continued to feed the birds after they were asked politely to stop the daily feeding frenzies, which are seen as dangerous to the birds.

The sad part is that these people are making the owner of the “wild parrot feeders” Yahoo group, as well as other members who no longer feed the birds, look bad. The owner of the Yahoo group (as well as some other members) had stopped feeding the birds even before the ban passed so it’s too bad that the people who call themselves group owner Jeff’s friend continue the irresponsible behavior of feeding the birds and giving him and his group a bad name. Maybe they’re not really his friends. They certainly are not friends of the parrots.
