Interim victory on Frederick Street Park!

Hi folks,

The community turn out at the Planning Commission hearing on October 5th was fantastic and we turned in more than 600 signatures on our petition. And the Commission voted to deny the project 4 to 3! It comes to the City Council on December 12. Thanks for all your support!

The Commission included four concerns in their decision: 1. ADUs need to be on standard 5000 sq. ft. or more lots. 2. The treatment of the public utility easement needs clarification. 3. The townhouses are incompatible in our R-1-5 district. 4. The density is too high.

We're now working on the December 12 Council meeting and toward expanding the park!

Developers are moving forward with a plan for 170 Frederick St., current site of Kingdom Hall, to build a high density, 3-story project that that would fundamentally alter the park and neighborhood.
