“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
A workshop presented by The UNtraining, a program for untraining white liberal racism. As white people, we are trained to be “white” whether we know it or not. And we benefit from “white privilege” whether we like it or not. Yet we don’t talk with each other about our own racial identity or our difficult feelings about race. How can white people reconcile our heartfelt antiracist beliefs with our cultural conditioning in a way that shifts shame, guilt and silence around race issues? The UNtraining offers a provocative and compassionate approach to helping white people wake themselves up and become better allies in the fight against racism.
