Wednesday, September 27th, San Francisco: Ed Rosenthal & Rick Watts Hearing to Set Trial Date

As prosecutor George Bevan continues his crusade against medical
marijuana activists Ed Rosenthal and Rick Watts, their defense is
preparing itself for a potential trial. The defense for Watts, who had
not been prosecuted previously due to illness, is refuting his further
appearance as he did not waive his right to a speedy trial yet is being
brought into court three years after the fact. Meanwhile, the defense
for Rosenthal is not convinced the case will go to trial. Nevertheless,
the grand jury proceedings are expected to take place on October 11th,
and the case is scheduled to go to trial on October 23rd. We will keep
you posted as the case develops.
